Fossilized Stone Technique

I learned a very cool technique called Fossilized Stone (see the background of the card below) during Sheila's class at the retreat. My goal is to get a video - or at the very least a photographic - tutorial put together by the end of the week on this technique. So keep checking back for that!

I'll also be teaching this card at my April card classes. If you want more info about my card classes please send me an email. I still have a few spots open on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Supplies (all CTMH): Desert Sand, Colonial White CS, glossy CS, Desert Sand, Sweet Leaf and Bamboo stamp pads, April Word Puzzle stamps. Colonial White brads.

Additional Note: I was so excited to post this card I forgot to give credit to Kathi and this card she created yesterday. I love her clean lines (and the stamp set). I seem to be "lifting" a lot from her lately. So much so, that she could probably be considered my muse!

I also finished the baby sized poncho. It's supposed to be a 3-6 month size (using sz 8 needles). I used size 10 needles so my gague was slightly bigger and I would guess it's closer to a 12month size. It fits Sammie's build-a-bear pretty well though - dontcha think? Now I have to try and figure out how many stitches to add to the 3 year old size pattern (largest they have) so that it fits my daughter. That's what makes knitting so difficult! The sizing part is tough.

As a side note... I don't think I will ever fly again without a knitting project. It was great having my hands busy during the flight, and feeling like I was accomplishing something. Also, knitting doesn't take much room, so I didn't feel like I was disturbing anyone around me. And I couldn't believe it, but the woman sitting in front of me on the way home was also knitting!

Ok, the poncho is absolutely darling!! Too cute.

I LOVE your card. I've been working on a few cards with that set for my April word puzzle club--it's a fun set! I hadn't thought of putting the little square stamp together like that--it's great! I love the fossiled stone technique too! I taught it last fall with autum,n colors and leaf cards--my ladies loved it. I haven't done it in a while, might need to try it again soon :)
