Date Night

Dave and I finally got a date night last night.  It was so overdue, and although we didn't do anything wild and crazy, it was wonderful just to have time alone and long conversations.

Dave came home early, so we dropped the kids off at grandma's right after school.  First we headed over to our favorite donut shop - Frost - and picked up some treats for dessert.  It was a challenge not to dive in and eat them all!

Our next stop was at Barnes and Noble.  We love to just sit and read the magazines - and this is a typical date night activity for use.  I got caught up on the Brad Womack crime "scandal", Kat Von D's engagement to Jesse, the latest and greatest in tattoos for women, and the hottest Knits for February.

We made a pit stop at Best Buy, trying to find a new Kinect game, but nothing really struck our fancy.  By that time we were getting hungry - so we headed to Misoya for sushi.

We hadn't been there before, but the food was good - VERY fresh, and the ambiance was nice.  The service was mediocre, our server was pleasant but inattentive (I never got a refill on my water).  While the sushi was delicious, the selection wasn't as broad as we are used to, and most everything looked and tasted the same.  We like Edina better, but it was fun to try a new place.  :)

After our dinner (and with the thought that dessert was coming) we decided to go back to Best Buy and get the Biggest Loser Kinect game.  We worked out, and then chowed down on donuts while watching a movie. The bacon maple bar is amazing!

The BL game is pretty cool, and we can't wait to keep up with it.  Dave and I decided that we would try "playing" the game every night after the girls are in bed as a way to get fit and spend time together.

So... that was my exciting Friday night.  :)

Sounds like a great date! Hubby and I haven't been on one in a couple of months, I think. It's LONG overdue! I want to get the BL game for the Wii, but I'm not sure about how it is. Might be worth it. Hmmm?

Nona - I am just taking some time to catch up on some of my favourite blogs. I just read this post and can't wait for this weekend as my husband and I are going on our long overdue date night:)

I recently purchased the BL game for Wii and have to say I am loving it! JP (my hubby) and I have been working out together (while he does not have to do this program for weight loss I love that he is by my side working with me. I have to say who knew you could sweat so much when playing a video game. I am also happy to say that after my first week of dedicated workouts and healthy eating I lost 3 pounds - I was nervous of the elimination/challenge and weigh in, but it is awesome. Jillian isn't as cruel on the wii but she does keep you moving.

Good luck with getting fit and keep up with all you do. You are an inspiration to many!

Thanks for blogging!
