Lotus Flower Moebius Hat

In Cat Bordhi's book "A Treasury of Magical Knitting" she has a pattern for the most beautiful moebius hat I've seen. For six long months I've been wanting to knit that hat, but never had the time - until last week. I had some down time after the craft fair and whipped up this number.

Unfortunately, I really despise doing gauge swatches and and I tend to bind off too tightly. Because of those two issues, my gorgeous hat's brim (where the bind off edge is) is too tight for my noggin, and I should have gone up a needle size (so the hat doesn't look like it is painted on my head).

I'm also a person who hates tearing out my work. I'd rather just start over with new yarn. So Sammie received the ultimate in fashionable hats. It fits her perfectly. Sigh...Did I mention the yarn is a silk blend and is softer than a baby's tushie? Bigger sigh....

At least one of us is pleased. I hope she enjoys it!

Oh man! I think you just convinced me to buy that book. First the scarves, now the hat. I've been following your blog for a while and never left a comment(stalker). I am a fellow CTMH consultant and knitter!! Thanks for sharing such awesome work.

Nona, you are the most creatively talented person I know. I've knitted since I was a kid and I'm still sending k1p1 scarves to everyone I know whenever I get the knitting bug! You inspire me - if you could whip this out in a few days, then I could possibly get one done in, say, a decade! GORGEOUS!!! And I always love seeing your lovely model on your blog.

That hat is AmaZinG!!!! Are you going to have them in your etsy shop? Cause if you do, put me down for one, or one of every color!
