The Day The Goodies Arrived

Today has been such a great day! We had a yummy Mother's Day lunch with Dave's mom, dad and sister at our favorite Indian Restaurant. Then while Sammie had her quiet time, and Dave did some homework, I made this digi layout! I think tonight we're just going to relax and watch a movie.

I'm really, really proud of this layout (it's a 2 page spread) and I designed it all MYSELF (even the swirls!!!!) Whoohoo! The break in the text is on purpose - so that when I print the pages at 12x12 it doesn't cut off any of the journaling. To see the layout larger, just click on the image.

I've been feeling more and more confident with digi, and it's been so much fun to try new things. I find digi scrapping so fulfilling as an artist, because I can incorporate swirls, different opacities, and layering in ways that I never could with conventional scrapping. I'm getting to see the layouts I picture in my mind come to life and that is so exciting.

The supplies for this layout all come from Jessica Sprague's free kit "Echoes of Asia" with the exception of the "blessed" element and photo negative frame which are both by Katie Pertiet. Fonts are CK Invitation and Blue Cake. :)
