We sang a song at church today that brought me to tears, but reminded me of the TRUE nature of God. He is not cruel. He is not vindictive. He is not seeking to tear down, but always to build up. He loves with a love that I can not even begin to comprehend or understand. His ways are higher than my ways, and his thoughts toward me are pure, and holy, and kind hearted.
I'll admit that over the past week I've been listening to the lies Satan has been feeding me about God. I've been angry, and disappointed, and unbelieving. (Wow this is really hard to post here).
This worship song brought all of those lies into focus, and brought me to my knees. Lord forgive my distrust and my unbelief! It is only in you that I have a hope, a future, and salvation! I give the status of my family - whether it stays as it is, or grows - over to you, Lord.
Here are the lyrics to that song. May it bless you as it did me.
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
His love has no limits, His grace had no measure,
His power has no boundary known unto men:
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving is only begun.
His love has no limit, His grace has no measure,
His power has no boundary known unto men:
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!

You my dear, are an amazing lady. I'm more proud of you with every day that goes by.

May God continue to bless you and your family, no matter what size it may be!!! Thank you for such a touching post.
Nona and Dave you guys rock. No matter what always be true to God and each other...Sammie can be there too :D
This was one of my moms favorite songs and I still hear her walking through the house singing it as she did the housework.
My mom is 83 and in an altzheimers care facility as daddy and my brother could not care for her properly.
Just be sure we have you all in our prays for God's guidance for you. Hugs to you all!!
Nona,
I was praying for your family as I clicked on your blog. It doesn't surprise me in the least that your faith would bless me as I read today's entry. Thank you for the reminder of God's goodness, even in times of heartache.
You are a truly an awesome example.
Thank you!
Hi Nona~ I am so sorry to hear about the baby. I can not imagine the pain and emotional stress you have been going through, but you are right GOD is sufficient to supply the grace. I am blessed by your testimony. We can not see the big picture, but God knows and does. Love the hymn you posted, it is a favorite of mine as well. It was so nice to meet you last year at the CTMH Orlando convention. You are such a sweet lady and so creative!! I pray God's blessing on your family. Michelle
Thank you! I needed that today...

Nona,
You are so full of love - you just overflow. Thank you for sharing such a tender and honest glimpse into your heart. I am in tears for the telling of your journey and for your epiphany.
I am so glad to hear that our Father has given you comfort and your feeling better.
I don't know you other than from following your blog. But I know God has great plans for you because he's preparing you. You're amazing that you allow Him to work and still praise Him through the pain!
Praying for you and your family.
You are simply amazing and what makes you more amazing is that you don't seek to be amazing just that you have a faith that makes me in awe. I'm still praying for you, Dave and Sammie and the birth mom.
What a beautiful story of your faith. I love the song, but I love the fact that you are willing to be honest about your hurt and love for God more. Thank you for sharing your heart with all of us in the virtual world.
Hi Nona,
Yes, isn't it amazing to know that our Heavenly Father loves us?! When Brent and I were going through our years and years of infertility treatments and spending thousands of dollars on medications and procedures and a couple of (failed adoption matches )we often wondered why God was playing a cruel joke on us.
Once we separated ourselves from what WE wanted (and like you said, recognized the lies that Satan was filling our hearts with) and turned our pain and hopes over to God, we were able to really see all the wonderful blessings that He was indeed blessing us with.
We still haven't been able to add to our family, but Heavenly Father has blessed us in many, many other ways.
HE Giveth, and Giveth, and Giveth Again...
Hugs to you!
Erin
Nona, I was just looking for the lyrics to this song as we sang it at crew on Sunday night and I love it and how it ministers to my soul. What I love even more is that of all the searches in the google search engine (there were 7,370 results for the search 'song lyrics he giveth and giveth again') YOURS was the second one to pop up, and we're friends! Must be something to that!
What a great reminder to me to lift you and your family up in prayer again this morning. Much love,
Debbie Shaner
